The 50 investigates how trauma and pain cycle through our lives, and the critical need for community-driven practices of healing and recovery behind bars.

85% of the prison population has an active substance use disorder or were incarcerated for a crime involving drugs or drug use.

90% of OMCP graduates passed their certifying exam. The overall state average passing rate for 2011–2015 was 65%.

OMCP, the program at the center of the film, is a successful recovery and rehabilitation program that changes lives, reduces recidivism to less than 1%, and sends healers into society.

“Based on us BONDING and socializing and being more understanding and identifying our issues, it affected the whole yard.”

-AL SASSER

With its focus on those serving long or life term sentences, OMCP provides a pathway for second chance employment that also meets our nationwide shortage of counselors.

The impact campaign aims to meaningfully expand legislative, financial, and social investment in this model and its graduates.
